Expressive vase which feels alive with the rhythm of the making process. The undulating walls were made by my fingertips as they travelled up the soft clay while on the wheel.
When soft, the mouth of the vessel was shaped to appear slightly square.
I want to communicate a sense of the fluidity and movement, in direct contrast with the rigidity of fired ceramic.
With a soft matt dolomite glaze, the off-white stoneware hue of the clay underneath shows through.

Glazed in an oxidation kiln with a soft dolomite nude glaze
